VICTORIA ISLAND, Nigeria - March 21, 2013 - PRLog -- The Honour of being a ‘Young Global Leader’ is every year, bestowed by the World Economic Forum to distinguished and inspiring individuals below the age of 40 years.

The Young Global Leaders is a global network of peers from diverse backgrounds and fields, with the goal of significantly impacting world affairs and shaping the global agenda. It is a forum for young leaders to be a voice for the future and change agents for positive action.

Young Nigerians are gradually making a mark globally as creative and inspiring individuals whose ideas can help shape the country globally so it is no surprise that a few Nigerians have been recognised on this year’s list of Young Global Leaders at the World Economic Forum, 2013. Among them is 27 years old Dr Ola Orekunrin, founder of Flying Doctors Nigeria.

Dr Ola Orekunrin is a medical doctor and trained helicopter pilot who started Flying Doctors Nigeria, an air ambulance service, at the young age of 24. She was recently featured on the forbe's list of 30 best Young African Entrepreneurs under the age of 30 and has been a recipient of numerous awards for excellence within and outside Nigeria. Her aim as a flying doctor is to help save lives in Nigeria and beyond.

The Young Global Leader nomination is a “recognition of your record of professional accomplishments, your commitment to society and your potential to contribute to shaping the future of the world through your inspiring leadership”.

Other young creative Nigerians recognised on the list alongside Dr Ola are Cobhams Asuquo, Tara Durotoye and Alex Okosi.
