Animal Shelter, and others, Benefits from Redfish Technology’s ‘One for One’ Program

SILICON VALLEY, Calif. - March 20, 2013 - PRLog -- The ‘One for One’ Community Service program is designed by Redfish Technology to donate both money and time to community organizations near and dear to the hearts of the staff.

The first monetary donation of 2013 goes to the Animal Shelter of the Wood River Valley in the amount of $1600. The mission of the Animal Shelter (http://animalshelterwrv.org/) is to enrich the quality of life in our community by connecting animals and people through innovative programs that inspire and have impact beyond our borders. The Animal Shelter was chosen as the recipient by Joanna Bradley, IT Recruiter at Redfish, as this quarter’s top producer.

“We are so honored to be receiving this donation from Redfish!” stated Brooke Bonner, Director of Development & Communications at the Animal Shelter. “We really appreciate local companies choosing to give back to the community.  It's such a great way to do business.”

Organizations benefiting this year from volunteer hours include the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation, Papoose Club, Idaho Steelheads Youth Hockey, Sun Valley Youth Hockey, Rhode Island Vegan Awareness, The Girl Scouts of Rhode Island, BCRD Basketball, and Sawtooth United Football Club.

The Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation hosted the Devo Triathalon, the cross-country developmental ski team’s season finale. The event included an obstacle course, a flying downhill, and a 1K race, as well as a barbeque and awards ceremony. Rob Reeves, CEO of Redfish Technology, volunteered in the event set up. “The SVSEF (http://www.svsef.org/) is an amazing organization, offering not only top-notch Nordic ski skills training, but also valuable lessons in perseverance and fun at a challenging sport,” Rob commented.

Greg Schreiner volunteered at the Blaine County Recreation District (http://bcrd.org/youth-basketball.php)’s Basketball clinic. “Teaching folks how to coach basketball to youth is so rewarding,” stated Greg. “It’s fun to watch parents blossom into coaches and then go on to create teams of avid basketball players.”

The Papoose Club held two events this year that required marshaling many volunteers. The Croy Nordic Cup and the Kindercup alpine race. Anna Mathieu timed racers and tallied times at both races. “The Papoose Club is such a fun, boots-on-the-ground volunteer organization. It is a joy to participate with the great members and the larger community come together to make these free kids ski races happen.”

The running total since the ‘One for One’ program debuted is now at 293 hours, the total represents program matching and simply inspired volunteer hours. John Stevens continued to coach and tour with the Sun Valley Youth Hockey and Idaho Steelhead teams. Jon Piggins is coaching Sawtooth United Football Club league.
