Asta publishes 'sustainability in construction' infographic after Ecobuild experience

Asta Development reveals increased requirement for solutions for project lifespan at Ecobuild -- Visitor comments highlighted importance of tight project management and end-to-end project management solutions to support sustainable building goals

THAME, U.K. - March 20, 2013 - PRLog -- Asta Development reported a great success at Ecobuild London, where it gained significant feedback from customers and prospects desiring to turn towards strategic project management as a method of embedding sustainable practices into all operations. The show also saw the unveiling of parent company ElecoSoft’s group capabilities and provided a forum to outline the ElecoSoft vision of providing a complete process solution for the construction industry and end to end software solutions for the built environment (http://www.astadev.com/uncategorized/asta-to-provide-end-to-end-software-solutions-for-the-built-environment/).

Government construction figures (http://www.astadev.com/news/sustainability-in-construction/) show that buildings account for 43% of all UK carbon, suggesting sustainable measures need to cover the entire lifecycle of each building from design through to operations post construction, as illustrated by the Asta Development infographic.

Feedback from existing customers and visitors to the stand revealed a need for solutions that ensure sustainable building practices (http://www.astadev.com/news/sustainability-in-construction/) are adhered to through all stages of the construction process and beyond. The need for strong project management was supported as a catalyst to enable construction projects to come in on time and on budget as well as support ongoing sustainability once a building is complete. Visitor feedback at Ecobuild demonstrated that more and more people are seeing how effective project management tools (http://www.astadev.com/products/asta-powerproject/asta-po...) can really help with the additional complexity that sustainability brings to projects.

Buildings account for a significant amount of resource usage (http://www.astadev.com/news/sustainability-in-construction/), with 50% of all global materials going into construction, according to research. 45% of energy generated is used to heat and light building but only 5% is used to construct them, whilst 45% of water used globally is for sanitation and other uses in buildings.
