Faith and Health 5K Raises Funds for Cancer Care

DELAND, Fla. - March 20, 2013 - PRLog -- DELAND – On March 10, Florida Hospital DeLand and Florida Hospital Fish Memorial hosted the sixth annual Faith and Health 5K Road Race and Fitness Walk at Lake Beresford Park, located at 2100 Fatio Road in DeLand.

The day’s activities focused on both spiritual and physical health. A health fair, complete with free screenings, kicked off the event and nearly 100 runners participated in the race.

“We were blessed with beautiful weather and are grateful to our generous sponsors and community for their active participation,” said Jennifer Lyons, Florida Hospital DeLand Director of Quality and Foundation.

All in all, the race raised more than $5,600, which will be split evenly between the two Florida Hospital Cancer Institutes in DeLand and Orange City.
