PRLog (Press Release) - Mar. 19, 2013 - SEATTLE -- An article written by Rodney Brooks, “Retirement Living: Debt holds many Boomers back,” for USA Today on February 8, 2013 backs this theory, as many (and not just Boomers are looking for more ways to diversify their portfolio) struggle to meet the needs of everything from going to college, to retiring without living in poverty (and are thinking of investing as what will save them). Individual responsibility must be taken in a way no one ever imagined. As mid and senior level workers approach their 50’s, their futures look even more uncertain. The financial and human costs of protracted job searches every three years really start to add up. People wonder, isn’t there a better way?

Charlie Magee, Franchise Expert with FranNet Washington says there is. “I am excited about the upcoming FranNet Western Washington Franchise Forum.  It’s a chance for people to learn about franchising and whether it might be a solution they want to consider.  For some, franchising may provide a way to build a stream of income while continuing to work in their corporate job as a semi-absentee franchise owner,” continues Magee, “…others may be interested in building a business based on a proven model where they can involve their adult children just getting out of school and facing a tough job market for college graduates.” The range of options for franchise ownership is much wider than most people think. Investing has taken on a whole new look in our economy today. Finance knowledge is critical to retirement success.

Representatives from seven franchisors, all from different industries, will be on hand March 27, 2013 for the free Western Washington Franchise Forum, to be held at the Sheraton Bellevue Hotel at 100 112th Avenue NE Bellevue, WA 98004, from 1pm to 3pm. They will show how their concepts make sense for the Washington economy. “The Franchise Forum programs are very beneficial formats for anyone interested in exploring Franchise ownership. The Forum allows a person the opportunity to learn about several franchises, what they have to offer and their potential in one session. This is an excellent program and a ‘must attend’ if you are serious about franchising and investing for the future,” says Jania Bailey, CFE- President & COO of FranNet and an IFA (International Franchise Association) board member.

Industries represented will include fast casual restaurant, yogurt, hair salon, senior services and home care, childcare and early education, retail, and business to business services. Franchisors will profile their successful franchisees (most of who had no prior experience in the industry) and discuss how their proven model helps new franchise owners manage the risks associated with business ownership.   Finance options will also be covered. “Most importantly, people attending this free event will have a chance to meet one on one with the various franchisors and ask questions.  We are also offering a door prize that will feature ‘dinner and the theatre’ for two people, at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse and the Seattle Theatre Group! It’s going to be a fun and informative event,” says Charlie Magee.
