Brandman University Enriches Nursing Education Adding a Turnkey Solution for Simulation

EXTON, Pa. - March 19, 2013 - PRLog -- Exton, Pa. (March 19,2013) Brandman University in Irvine, California, has recently selected a web-based software application to help manage the operations of their nursing simulation center. Together with a comprehensive audio-video solution for capturing simulation training activities, faculty and learners will conduct debriefing sessions with the aid of superior-quality videos to better clarify learners’ perceptions and highlight areas needing improvement.

This state-of-the-art solution will enable administrators and faculty to analyze trends, maximize learning objectives, bookmark, and more. Because videos are viewable both remotely and on-site, debriefing is easy and convenient, allowing for ongoing reflection and feedback.

The construction for the simulation center began in April 2011. Brandman University renovated 14,000 square feet of the North Wing on the second floor which now houses their nursing simulation laboratory as well as adjacent office space. This project specifically involved the construction of hospital grade nursing stations and related teaching areas.

Learners will practice patient interaction in a safe environment, allowing them to attain diagnostic and procedural competence without running the risk of harming actual patients. This clinical simulation solution will also help determine if learners can transfer the skills they learned during practice to their work with actual patients.
