Fly Malaysia Airlines to Australia, with fares starting from just Rs 46,000*

MUMBAI, India - March 19, 2013 - PRLog -- Tourism Australia and Malaysia Airlines are collaborating on a campaign featuring attractive airfares to Australia starting from just Rs. 46,000. The tactical fares are on sale until April 5th 2013, for a travel period valid up to 30th September 2013, and are being advertised in key print and digital mediums.

Australia features high on the preference list of travellers with a total of 159,420 visitors from India in 2012, a 7.5% increase over the previous year. A 15.3% growth was recorded in the leisure arrivals (those travelling for holiday or to visit friends and family) from India to Australia for the calendar year 2012. Malaysia Airlines, well known for its in flight service that epitomises Malaysian hospitality, flies to key Australian gateway cities including Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney with 49 weekly flights from Kuala Lumpur.

In the India 2020 strategy released by Tourism Australia in June 2012, aviation is recognised as one of the pivotal focus areas for achieving the tourism potential. Supporting a sustainable and competitive aviation market is a key component of this strategy with a strong focus on working with airlines to support available capacity for Australia. It is estimated that Australia has the potential to receive up to 300,000 visitors from India by the year 2020.

Malaysia Airlines offers par-excellence services to Indian consumers. In addition to the competitive fares on offer, a favourable feature for fliers on Malaysia Airlines is the increased free baggage allowance of 40 kgs in Business Class and 30 kgs in Economy Class. In-flight, Malaysia Airlines offers the most advanced and state-of-the-art facilities to its customers that include on-board entertainment at each seat with access to both international as well as North and South Indian audio/video programs, in addition to interactive services such as SMS, LIVE news updates.
