New Book Describes Total Recovery from Schizophrenia

PRLog (Press Release) - Mar. 18, 2013 - SAVANNAH, Ga. -- This is the totally true story of one who entered into the "straight jacket" of paranoid schizophrenia--and returned to tell about it! The author is an Episcopal priest who currently leads Healing Streams Ministry and serves as Chaplain in the recovery program at The Old Savannah City Mission. But he had to be rescued first!

Set in the counter-cultural world of the drug-crazed 60s, the first half of the book describes a descent into the hell of a full blown psychosis; the second half unveils the rescue and return to the land of the living. The first half is filled with bizarre events and terrifying encounters that are interspersed with comical episodes showcasing the "absurd" side to delusion. The second half takes the reader on a journey of discovering the ways in which divine interventions and a restored faith in God can work for mending, not only mental illnesses, but also the deeper wounds of the heart that undermine mental health in the first place.
