ANN ARBOR, Mich. - March 18, 2013 - PRLog -- Steve Scott from Steve Scott Country (www.stevescottcountry.com) is the author/composer of the song “Have You Ever Known a Soldier?” a powerful tune with a simple yet heartfelt message to all those who serve: Welcome Home! This song is emotionally gripping and delivers a long awaited sincere “thank you” to all our military heroes and their families (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VmlBagct9Q0). Steve has recently partnered with three outstanding non-for-profit organizations: Operation Ward 57 (www.operationward57.org), Wish for Our Heroes (www.wish4ourheroes.org) and Until Every Troop Comes Home (www.untileverytroopscomeshome.org).

As a result, 100% of the net proceeds from the sale of the song “Have You Ever Known a Soldier?” will go to support active troops, our veterans and their families through the organizations mentioned above. When “Shinin’ Like You Do” the CD is purchased directly from any of these three organizations: 50% of the sale price goes to support their good works.

The song “Have You Ever Known a Soldier?” can be downloaded for 99 cents. 99 cents may seem like a small offering, but from many, it can make a huge difference in the lives of soldiers through the efforts of these organizations.

Steve Scott was inspired to write “Have You Ever Known a Soldier?” by his two older brothers who served as combat Marines in the Vietnam War and his wife’s work on the Army STARRS Project, the largest study of mental health risk and resilience ever conducted among military personnel (www.armystarrs.org). Steve’s core belief is all about giving back; recognizing and acknowledging the sacrifice of those who pay the high price of war for us all. He believes that (even though the flag waving has stopped and the parades are gone) it is our duty, as a nation and as individuals, to support our troops and their families not only while at war but when they’ve returned to us here at home.

Steve Scott is a multi-faceted, dynamic and exceptionally talented up-and-coming country artist.  Steve’s music is a soulful country: the pop-rock/bluegrass/country style that he embraces is unique and paves a new and exciting path in today’s country music (www.stevescottcountry.com/press.htm).

Steve released his solo debut album “Shinin’ Like You Do” in Aug. 2012, and since then he has been actively supporting organizations whose mission is to aid our active soldiers, our veterans and their loved ones. Up to now he has donated all the net proceeds from downloads of “Have You Ever Known a Soldier?” to Disabled American Veterans (www.dav.org) and has donated CDs for care packages to Operation Gratitude (www.operationgratitude.com) and Until Every Troop Comes Home.

The three organizations Steve has teamed up with truly complement each other:

Operation Ward 57: Supports wounded warriors, their families and medical staff at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center by providing items that assist in recovery, maintenance and morale of the hospital environment and through advocacy, education and promotion of their circumstances (To support this organization directly:   http://bit.ly/1127ZzC)

Wish for Our Heroes:  is a national charity dedicated to “Helping Heroes Battle Hardships”, by granting wishes to military and their families. Wish for Our Heroes is a volunteer-based organization, allowing every dollar donated to directly assist the troops. Since 2009, over 1,300 wishes have been granted to military heroes (To support this organization directly:  http://bit.ly/142V6WY).

Until Every Troop Comes Home: supports our troops by providing care packages, letters, cards and encouragement. (To support this organization directly:  http://bit.ly/ZSq7H3).

Together we can do more! Please help us help them through music! Steve Scott Country believes, little by little, music can change the world for the better . . . one song at a time!
