The European Knowledge Award 2013 went to Lithuania

The European Academy for Taxes, Economics & Law granted the European Knowledge Award 2013 to the National Paying Agency under the Ministry for Agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania.
 
BERLIN - March 18, 2013 - PRLog -- The award-giving-ceremony took place on March 11th during the 8th European Annual Symposium EU Funds 2013 under the patronage of Mr Johannes Hahn, European Commissioner for Regional Policy (March 11 – 13, 2013) in Berlin.

“My colleagues and I are delighted to receive this prize. For us, it is a great acknowledgement for our consistent efforts to provide high quality services and to set-up high standards for our work. Thank you very much!”, Ignė Balaišytė, Chief Specialist, Rural Development and Fisheries Programmes Department, Ministry for Agriculture of the republic of Lithuania, said in her emotional statement.

Mr. Christoph Brauner, Managing Director of the Academy presented the prize to the audience and to the winners at a special award-giving-ceremony at the end of the kick-off day of the symposium. The Academy awarded the Lithuanian National Paying Agency under the Ministry for Agriculture for its exceptional efforts in training measures on topics dealing with EU Funds. Representatives of the institution accepted the prize deeply stirred.  

The annual European Knowledge Award carries a value of 10.000 Euro in trainings. The Award has been given for the third time this year and is morally supported by the patronage of the European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Multilingualism and Youth, Mrs Androulla Vassiliou. Its aim is to encourage the efforts of the participating institutions from the EU Member States in training their employees in order to achieve a high level of proficiency.

About the 8th European Annual Symposium EU Funds 2013:

At the 8th European Annual Symposium EU Funds 2013 under the patronage of EU Commissioner for Regional Policy, Mr Johannes Hahn (11th – 13th March 2013) nearly 500 attendees from all European countries debated on the future challenges in the next funding period. The special focus lied on the transition to the next programming period 2014-2020.
