PRLog (Press Release) -
Mar. 18, 2013 - More than 100 countries of the world have received packages from modes4u.com in the last five years. That’s half the countries of the world. “I’m very proud that we’ve become that international.”
, states Managing Director Sandra Boch. The Native Austrian moved to Hong Kong many years ago and founded the online shop for cute stationery, fabrics and DIY-items in 2007 with her Chinese husband Alan Mak. Today the team consists of nearly 20 staff members; the warehouse stocks almost 5,000 different products and the website receives an average of 200 orders per day.
“2012 was a big year for us; we added three new languages to our bilingual shop, so that customers worldwide can order more comfortably”
, IT manager Alan proudly announces. Now people can choose between English, German, French, Spanish and Italian shop versions. The product range of modes4u.com is another reason for their appeal to international customers. The online shop imports most of its products from Japan, which are very hard to find outside the country. modes4u is also an official retailer of the Japanese company San-X, creator of the popular character Rilakkuma (brown bear). “I’m very happy about our close connection to San-X. It took me years and lots of work to find suppliers in Japan and establish good relationships”
, Sandra remembers. Her work paid off. Just in time for their 5th shop anniversary on March 18th San-X granted them permission to sell the limited Rilakkuma zodiac signs collection (see picture below). Only very few online shops worldwide are allowed to sell them outside of Japan.
So what’s on the agenda for the next five years? “A lot”, says the young entrepreneur. “We want to offer faster shipping methods, so that our customers receive their orders within a couple of days no matter if they are located in Singapore, Sweden or Saudi-Arabia.”
The couple also has lots of ideas to improve the online shop and the ordering process.
To celebrate the online shop’s 5th birthday, every customer who orders on modes4u.com on March 20th will get a 5% discount as well as a free gift of three little deco tapes.
