Flagler Beach, FL - The Rotary Club of Flagler Beach is now accepting registrations for Cycle Flagler.  This cycling event takes place Sunday, April 7th, 2013.

Registration will open at 6 a.m. at Flagler Palm Coast High School, 5500 East Highway 100, Palm Coast.  Hundreds of cyclists from all over the state of Florida will choose from 24 mile, 40 mile, 66 mile or 100 mile tours.  The $35 tax deductible donation to the Rotary Club of Flagler Beach can be made on line at www.cycleflagler.org.  Pre-registration will take place at the Hampton Inn from 4 – 7 pm on Saturday, April 6th.  Cyclists will be able to pick up their event tee shirt, map, goodie bag and event wrist bracelet.  The day of registration donation is $40.

pcBike will provide SAG assistance along the tour.  Safety vehicles travel along the tour to assist cyclists and help with their equipment. Local businesses like Craig Flagler Palm Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, Realty Exchange owned by David Petkovsek, Walgreens, and Gail Lambert, and Esquire sponsor the rest stops along the tour routes, providing refreshments and food for the cyclists.  The first 500 participants will receive an event tee shirt as a thank you for supporting the Rotary Club.  At the end of the tour there will be a barbeque and vendors will have displays for the participants.  James Horst, event Photographer, will be on hand to capture the event.

For more information, visit www.cycleflagler.org. The cycling enthusiast will “relax…on the quiet side of Florida” as Flagler County’s Tourist Development Council advertises.  The goal of the Rotary Club of Flagler Beach is to raise funds for local scholarships, Project Share and many other community needs they support throughout the year.  “Our event is one of the most popular cycling events in the state,” says event chairman Kim Carney. The event offers cyclists a beautiful venue along with a safe and challenging tour. The routes are well marked. The rest stops provide nutritional support to participants.  “We are excited to celebrate 10 years of cycling in Flagler County,” says Tom Hury, Rotarian and originator of the event.

During the winter, our attendance swells with the coming of our Snow-Birds. All are welcome, of course, and are included in all our social and civic activities.
