Elliot Levy's “Freedom Train” is a significant and personal song

LOS ANGELES - March 17, 2013 - PRLog -- Elliot Levy has been a musician for many years.  He spent ten years studying Afro-Caribbean percussion with John Amira and performed for many dance classes and ceremonies.   He has been involved either writing songs or playing for the Danny Kalb Band, formerly of the Blues Project, Ellis Hooks Band , Melvin Van Peebles and Elliot Schneider.  

Although Elliot Levy’s past recordings do not reflect this Afro-Caribbean sound, they have a profound effect on him musically and spiritually.  Follow up songs will reflect this style of music which is more instrumental suited for commercial applications and more.  

Current songs such as “Freedom Train”, which is a country tune, was written after viewing a CBS Sunday Morning piece on a veteran home on leave from duty in Iraq and the time she spent with her two young children.  Written and recorded beautifully, Elliot pays homage to her and her sacrifice and dedication to her country and family.  This song was an emotional journey for him.  

“Living in the Past Lane” is another extraordinary country song.  This song was written with Janice Fitzgerald for a recording session they had planned in Nashville during Tin Pan Alley South Week.  This song is about a man who risks his one true love for his dream of becoming a successful musician, only to realize the sacrifice was too great a price to pay.

“Where Did Our Love Go” is sung by Lorraine Ferro and written for Elliot’s niece after her fiancé left.  This great ballad is a beautifully arranged song with great vocals, wonderful harmonies and melody.  

Elliot Levy’s music is personal, thought provoking and promotes a feeling of calm. Every song has a great unique melody arranged with perfection to capture the essence of the storyline.  His music is multi-generational, memorable, sustainable and a joy to listen to.
