The exhibit began in the early 2000s as an answer to the question "Where are the Muslim women?" So often people rely on the images of Muslim women being victims of war or abused helpless beings portrayed by the media that they overlook the vibrant and productive Muslim women right in front of them working in our communities everyday.
Marie's at Ummat's is a Muslim family owned and managed eating establishment next door to the Atlanta Masjid of Al-Islam at 566 Fayetteville Rd SE. The restaurant menu combines great healthy down home southern style cuisine with charm and class. Come by and view the exhibit and also enjoy the herbal teas, fresh vegetables, traditional and vegetarian entrees served daily at the restaurant.
