Westland, Michigan, United States., March 16, 2013 - (PressReleasePoint)
- Early this morning on a bitterly cold day in March during the middle of a late winter snowfall David Cox SMR Hosting LLC's founder and CEO announced the companies first major network expansion effectively doubling the amount of bandwidth available to its users. This announcement came just days after announcing three new services being made available to their users. Two of which are being offered for free to users of their anonymous IP VPN service. The three new services are being released with the intention of attracting a new sort of user to their already popular personal VPN service.
In a blog post on March 16, 2013 SMR Hosting's president and CEO David Cox announced that their new Dante SOCKS 5 SQUID HTTPS proxy (http://blog.smrhosting.com/

. These SOCKS 5 and HTTPS proxies require a username and password to connect to and are based in the USA and the Netherlands. Users have access to about 15 different proxies but the service is on schedule to triple in the coming weeks. A company representitive said that eventually this will be a paid service but during the next few months users will get free access while SMR Hosting does load testing on their authentication servers.
On March 16 SMR Hosting began setting up, monitoring and managing VPN servers for businesses and personal users that require a private VPN solution for employees on the road or new companies who want to start up their own VPN business but don't want to become a reseller or affiliate. This service can include installation, monitoring, support and management based on the needs of the user. This has been created for the small and medium sized companies who cant afford a dedicated IT staff.
SMR Hosting's founder David Cox who has been full of surprises lately announced that the effective bandwidth of their network has just been doubled with the addition of their new VPN gateway in Arizonia and the addition of 2 new servers in the notoriously P2P friendly Netherlands. When asked why add two servers in a location that already has a gateway instead of adding new gateways in other countries Patty Hamm their marketing director pointed to a squidoo lens where SMR Hosting, STRONGVPN, HideMyAss and TorGuard compete in an Anonymous VPN (http://www.squidoo.com/

and told me that "results from tests like this motivate us to go further". Patty went on to explain that SMR Hosting was disappointed in their performance when connected to their Netherlands node and they felt they needed to add more bandwidth there before they introduce service in a new country so they added another 2000 Mbps.
