(Brooklyn, New York – March 15, 2013) Film at Eleven’s award-winning documentary “Haiti: Where Did the Money Go?” will be screened as part of the Haiti Double Series at the Women’s International Film & Arts Festival in Miami, FL, at 5:30 pm on Friday, March 22 at Little Haiti Cultural Center, 212 NE 59th Terrace Miami, FL 33137.
The film, which tracks what happened to the $1.4 billion donated to major charities after the Haiti earthquake, recently won a Gracie Award for Outstanding Investigative Program, a CINE Special Jury Award for Best Investigative Film, and a CINE Golden Eagle. It has been airing on PBS.
With extensive and repeated visits to IDP camps and interviews with, among others, the American Red Cross, Project Medishare and Catholic Relief Services, the film investigates what charitable organizations were doing with this donated money, and how the aid “system” might be changed.
Line Producer Jennie Walker will be in attendance for the Q&A session.
