In what has been dubbed the “Boogie Past You Challenge,” Devang, who resides in North Bergen, N.J., has set a target time of one hour and 35 minutes. There might even be some “Jive Talkin'” as he whizzes past runners on his way to the finish line.
“The “Boogie Past You Challenge” is a fun way to tie our two area events together in a meaningful way that directly benefits those who continue the recovery process from the devastating storm just a few months ago,” said Greg Laird, Founding Partner and CEO of US Road Sports & Entertainment Group. “We are excited that Devang has agreed to take our disco theme to the next level and we hope he runs past many competitors in his 'Boogie Shoes.'”

The 5K race will start at 8:30 a.m., on a separate course within Flushing Meadows Park, and the party doesn't end when the runners cross the finish line. Participants and fans are invited to “Disco Down in Queens” in a post-race party like no other, with free beer (ID required) provided by Michelob ULTRA in the Queens Museum of Art, and a disco party with the funkiest of funk bands.
