Snell & Wilmer Attorney Tim Toohey Moderated Panel at USC Intellectual Property Institute

The 10th annual installation of the Institute featured national speakers who analyzed intellectual property topics including copyright, patent and trademark law. The Institute included morning plenary sessions, a luncheon keynote address by Chief Judge Randall R. Rader and afternoon tracked breakout sessions which touched on issues from contributory liability to strategic patent litigation issues to the ethics of IP negotiations. Toohey moderated a panel titled, “The Grey Market: A Debate about Kirtsaeng and the Proper Scope of Trademark and Copyright Protection.”

Toohey is a U.S. Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) and an E.U. Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E). His practice is concentrated on complex litigation, intellectual property and privacy and data protection matters. He has extensive experience in all elements of intellectual property counseling and litigation, including trademark, copyright and patent matters. Toohey’s experience includes the trial and arbitration of trademark, design patent and copyright infringement matters, as well as licensing and trade secret disputes.
