UAT Helps Kick off Geek Night Out

UAT set up their Ultrasketch, an eight-foot-tall etch-a-sketch complete with a variety of games both classic and new. The giant red display gave UAT a firm presence during the Geeks night out.

March 15, 2013 - PRLog -- Thursday, February 22, was the night that geeks took control of Tempe, Arizona. They overran the city—or that’s what it felt like—as the City of Tempe held Geek’s Night Out (http://geeksnightout.org/) at the City Hall. Why would the City of Tempe release the Geeks on their very own door steps? Because geeks are important to the city since about 20 percent of the jobs in the city involve technology. With all the geek’s in the city, it is no surprise that the area around the Tempe City Hall was packed with groups of people lining up to get a look at booths. They came prepared with comics, the paranormal, tech inventions, games, music and more.

Some of the groups that showed up were the Phoenix Comicon, NASA, AZ Ghostbusters, and a slew of technology schools. One of which was Tempe’s very own University of Advancing Technology (UAT) which pulled out the stops to show off its geeky nature. UAT had a booth set up so passersby could not only view videos and play games made at the University, but could also get some swag to wear. To top all that off, UAT also set up their Ultrasketch, an eight-foot-tall etch-a-sketch complete with a variety of games both classic and new. The giant red display gave UAT a firm presence during this amazing event.
