Why The World Water Day Concert ?

The impacts of the global water crisis are staggering, with nearly 780 million people – one in seven – lacking access to clean water. Close to three times that many, 2.5 billion people, don’t have access to a toilet. 3.4 million people die each year from water, sanitation and hygiene-related causes. Every 21 seconds, a child dies from a water-related illness and women spend 200 million hours a day collecting water. Support for Water.org’s work is needed now more than ever. Funds raised at this event will allow Water.org to continue its extraordinarily empowering work to provide access to clean water, and sanitation, to families and communities in the developing world.

Water.org is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering people in the developing world to gain access to safe water and sanitation. For more information on the great work of Water.org see the video http://youtu.be/KdwinEmUqF0
