C.U.S.P. (Committed to Uplifting Single Parents) and Foster & Banks Walk in Faith Foundation are hosting a college prep workshop on March 23, 2013. The free seminar teaches students about financial aid, college admissions, internships, being a student athlete and much more.
“There are many misconceptions about the college process,” said Rashunda Rene, Founder of C.U.S.P. (Committed to Uplifting Single Parents). “We are excited to have the opportunity to partner with another community organization to help prepare youth for success. It is a win-win, by helping both organizations reach students in Los Angeles.”
A College representative will be available to provide information about their school and answer questions. Participants will also have the opportunity to learn about internship possibilities through Inroads, whose mission is to develop and place talented underserved youth in business and industry, and prepare them for corporate and community leadership. Parents are encouraged to attend with students to receive important information about how to prepare their children for successful college admission.
The workshop is Saturday, March, 23 at Budlong Elementary School located at 5940 S. Budlong Ave. Los Angeles, CA 90044. The event is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is open to the public. Information applies to all students and their parents.
