This was a truly regal event attended by 15 visiting queens from San Diego to Santa Barbara along with local title holders of the Miss America program who will later compete for the title of Miss California and, possibly, Miss America. Also in attendance were title holders of Miss America’s Outstanding Teen competition who will go on to compete in the Miss Outstanding Teen/Miss America pageant. Elizabeth Sams was honored to be chosen in the Miss Outstanding Teen category of competition and she was crowned by Miss San Fernando Valley 2012, Jaycee Cisneros.
Elizabeth’s duties as the San Fernando’s Miss Outstanding Teen will include many public appearances throughout the year to represent the Miss America pageant. These appearances will include vocal performances and community service. Elizabeth plans to continue her efforts to for veterans with her platform, “Honoring Veterans and Freedom Awareness.” The "Dear Veteran" song Elizabeth sings and her mother, Renee Sams, wrote continues to receive national attention as a lasting tribute to our American service men and women.
In April, Elizabeth will attend a Miss Outstanding Teen orientation. In June, she will compete for the title of Miss California’s Outstanding Teen in Fresno, California, along with 50 other contestants.
