The second annual US-Mexico Smart Grid Technology & Business conference is a high-level business development event designed to promote American smart grid technologies in Mexico and connect US firms to business opportunities and key contacts.

Lance Brown, Vice President of Customer Service Solutions and Ken Roberts, the Sales & Marketing Director of Smart Utility Systems will deliver a presentation on day one of the Annual Conference. The presentation will shed light on the expertise that Smart Utility Systems brings to the Utility industry by offering a wide range of innovative solutions designed to meet the industry’s needs now and in the near future.

Lance and Ken are looking forward to meeting and discussing Mexico’s utility industry needs with the Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE) executives who will be present for this exciting event. A reception will follow at Earl Anthony Wayne’s residence, US Ambassador to Mexico to provide a casual and collaborative setting where the US-Mexico Smart Grid Technology & Business Forum participants can engage to discuss how these innovative smart grid technologies can address their immediate needs.

Lance is the Vice President of Customer Solutions and is a professional with more than 35 years of experience in the public utility and retail industries. The majority of this experience comes from his career with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP), the largest municipal utility in the United States. He was promoted to director of customer services in 2006 and remained in that position until his retirement in February 2011. As director, he was responsible for the activities of more than 1,500 employees directly involved in providing customer service to more than 1.8 million customers. His areas of responsibility were comprised of the customer contact center and customer service centers; field services including meter reading, field service, and revenue security; and revenue management including billing and collections, remittance processing and mail center operations.

Ken Roberts is the Sales & Marketing Director of Smart Utility Systems. He is responsible for developing, directing and executing the firm’s overall strategic sales and marketing activities. Ken brings a diverse background and has more than 21 years of product marketing, channel marketing, product development, sales, engineering, technology, B2B and consumer marketing experience on a global scale. Ken has held a Vice President of Sales & Marketing position as well as other senior management roles.  Prior to joining Smart Utility Systems, Ken spent 9 years at Samsung Corporation, where he held product marketing and engineering positions. At Hewlett Packard, he served as Product Manager responsible for $400M in sales. He oversaw the development of both of these product categories which resulted in exceeding Hewlett Packard’s sales goals and also being awarded the HP Star Award for a significant contribution to HP’s sales, revenue and profitability.

Ken is a graduate of the University of Southern California and received a BA in Spanish and also graduated from California State University Long Beach where he received a BS in Quality Assurance Engineering.
