The Importance of “CRAZINESS”

Why you definately SHOULD get CRAZY in a world that's telling you not to!

March 11, 2013 - PRLog -- One of my favourite pop songs is by the artist, Seal.

It's simply entitled: CRAZY!

And that's a perfect premise to begin from in this particular posting.

The people who are aware of what I do – and my rather distinct and outlandish sense of humour – know that I, too, can get a little crazy. Just take a look at some of my YouTube videos! Then speak for themselves.

So let's talk about craziness!

Clearly, when I use the term "crazy", what I'm not taking about are the behaviours exhibited as a result of any type of psychological disorder. That's one definition of the term, of course; but that's not the "crazy" I mean at all. (And I'm pretty sure Seal didn't intend it to mean that either!)

What I'm speaking about is our ability to let go, wake up, shake off the chains of restriction that society imposes upon us and simply enjoy what it's like to be free and uninhibited. It's about embracing the deepest expression of our creative capacities and living from our FULLNESS – the way we were born to be.

But in a world full of diversions, repressive measures, control mechanisms and individuals imploring us to just "follow the herd", it can be challenging to live from this energy. We look around us and we're bombarded – from every conceivable direction – with an onslaught of messages that spin the misinformation of fear and lack and uncertainty.

The carefully constructed environment around us causes the majority to stay reserved, restricted and contracted. It dulls down that vital essence of their character. It stifles their awesomeness; their magic!

Do you want this to be you?

"We are caged by our cultural programming. Culture is a mass hallucination, and when you step outside the mass hallucination you see it for what it’s worth."

– Terence McKenna

True internal power – deep, lasting, unwavering self-confidence – resides in recognising the illusion of the programming around us (that most people don't recognise) and refusing to fall victim to its insidious intentions. Only then can we really be who we are. As I've said before in many of my writings, operating this way – from our fundamental truth – is perhaps the greatest challenge we'll ever face in this Western World.

Getting a little "crazy" reminds us – ultimately – that we're free. It remind us that this life of ours isn't so intensely serious. (It's precious, yes! But it's not serious.) It's a way of us coming out of the trance, and seeing our place in the world from a refreshed, empowered perspective. And it isn't so much the "craziness" itself, it's what it awakens within us when we break free from the illusory chains of restriction that society tells us is "the way we need to be". Ultimately, It's a metaphor for our personal liberty!

The CRAZY videos that I make are, fundamentally, about reminding myself – and reminding others (even if it's just for a few moments) – of that very aliveness, that essential nature, that is the truth of all of us.

So what can you do today to get a little crazy? To bring a surprise smile to the faces of those around you? To recognise the "zombie-like-trance" of societal programming, and snap out of it?

Because when we are like this – when we make the decision to live from our fullness; from that sacred space of aliveness and inspiration and possibility – confidence is our natural state. Like this, we feel the surge our own charismatic essence. We feel it resonating in every cell of us.

If these ideas resonate with you – if you feel the essence of what I'm speaking of in this post – make sure that you pick up a copy of my book, CONFIDENCE EXPLOSION, from Amazon. In Confidence Explosion I explore these notions in much greater depth.

And if you want to takes thing even further – if you're ready for a real adventure – consider joining me in person for one of my private mentoring programmes.

Whatever you do today, whomever your with, and wherever you go, remember the words of the fascinating pop artist, Seal: "We're never gonna survive unless we get a little crazy!"
