Can you imagine someone from that time period hearing another person’s voice on the phone even though they were miles away? Can you imagine someone in Chicago hearing Lucille Ball on the radio from New York, or someone in Texas seeing Bob Hope on a tiny television screen doing a show from Los Angeles?
Can you imagine the first time anyone tried to go “online” and chat with someone who had a similar computer halfway around the world?
What would you have given to be in on the ground floor of something like that?
WELCOME TO MEDIAXUS.
A new website (and app) is coming that will revolutionize how people use entertainment at home and on the go.
Mediaxus is the name for a streaming media site, kind of like Netflix or Amazon. But in other ways, it’s nothing like Netflix or Amazon.
So, what makes Mediaxus different?
NOT JUST TV AND MOVIES
Mediaxus has all the same content that you’ll find on other movie and TV sites, but it also has music. This site has access to thousands of songs and albums. No other media site has combined both of these entertainment options. We’re also working on adding books and video games to our library. No more having to bookmark twenty different sites. Now, there will be one place where you can go for all of your entertainment needs.
THE BEST FAMILY FILTER EVER
These days, parents often have challenges in guarding what kind of content their children are exposed to. Mediaxus offers a solution unlike any other. Its unique filtering system can protect your children from content that you don’t want them to see.
Want to avoid your children watching any shows or hearing any songs with rough language? Simply click the “No language” tab in the filter. Are you OK with mild language but don’t want them to hear the heavier stuff? Select the filtering based on the MPAA rating and description (so that, for instance, your kids can watch PG movies but not PG-13). You can also set the same parameters for sex and violence.
But Mediaxus doesn’t stop there. The new app features a technology—the first of its kind—that can scan a movie, TV show or song a few seconds in advance, and bleep out or silence any offending words. It can also be programmed to skip over sexual scenes. No other app puts such a wide array of choices at the parents’ fingertips.
UP TO THREE ACCOUNTS
Many sites only allow one account, which means that you have to choose your films based on what only the youngest in the house can see, or else run the risk of having the children stumble on the wrong film by mistake. Mediaxus allows you to have up to three separate accounts, so that there can be one for the parents, one for the older kids, and one for the younger kids.
While many music sites allow the user to create multiple playlists, most streaming movie and TV sites have exactly one playlist: “Queue.” Why not have the best of each structure in one app? With Mediaxus, you can create as many playlists as you want, from “Romance Films” to “Action Movies” to “Classic Sitcoms” or anything else you feel like.
Want to share your “Superhero Movies” playlist with your oldest kid? No problem. Mediaxus allows you to share (or hide) any playlist you like with any other account listed under your subscription.
A WIDER WORLD
Community is the backbone of many of the Internet’s most popular sites such as Facebook. The Mediaxus site allows for networking with other users in a forum. You can find other people who share similar tastes in movies, music, and more. When was the last time you said that you made a new friend while on Netflix?
SO, HOW TO SIGN UP?
Mediaxus will be making its world premiere later this year. In the meantime, what we need are volunteers to try out this grand experiment in online entertainment. We want you to be one of the first to see the beta version of our site, and give us feedback before our grand opening so that we can work out any issues in advance. You can help us make the site the best it can possibly be. And in exchange, you’ll get to try this exciting new service for free.
