In a win or go home game, the Express clearly came to win, and defend home court, with their sights set on the final four in Jacksonville, FL. The 1st qtr ended with the Express up 27-21, with Jamal Webb leading the Express with 7pts, as both teams were a bit tight. The 2nd qtr set the tone for how well they work as a team, as 6 players for the Express scored, leading to a halftime score of 51-43.
After the half, the Express, playing aggressive defense, began to turn it up, leading to 6 players scoring, and sharing the ball. On 9 field goals, the Express had 7 assists is the qtr alone. ‘This was the most complete game that we’ve played this season! Our individual and team defense, led to so many scoring opportunities for us, and we were able to utilize our depth. Coach Ortiz has stressed how much talent this team has, all season. We’re a very deep team, there could be a different scoring leading every game for us.
