goBRANDgo!, a St. Louis-based marketing company, will give one entrepreneur born in 1983 or later a free year of office space, networking opportunities and mentoring which amounts to approximately $50,000 in agency resources. The idea: to provide a young entrepreneur all of the necessary tools to ensure that person focuses solely on growing a start-up business with a solid foundation. Another program benefit: no equity will be exchanged.
Young entrepreneurs with an innovative approach to their industry are encouraged to submit a 60 second video on YouTube explaining their vision, leaving the formal business plan at home. The applicant that receives the most "likes" on YouTube by the time the application deadline closes will automatically move on to the next round, while the rest of the semifinalists will be selected by judges.
The idea for go!celerator came when Derek Weber and Brandon Dempsey began reflecting on their own start-up experience. The duo, who founded goBRANDgo! in 2010 after both launching entrepreneurial ventures in their early twenties, understand the struggles of starting out on their own and look to empower one entrepreneur with all of the resources they lacked.
