PRLog -- Sherry Saturno, LCSW, DCSW, Risk Manager at Westchester Medical Center in New York, was selected to serve as a panelist at Columbia University School of Social Work on March 3rd, 2013, to make a business case for social work. Columbia University School of Social Work's mission is to develop leaders in social work practice and research whose work advances human rights and social justice at the local, national, and global level. Saturno was part of a panel that discussed how graduate students may combine clinical skills with business acumen to explore non-traditional careers in risk management, policy, and politics. Over 230 attendees participated in the event in Manhattan, held in honor of National Social Work Month. Saturno was named the Social Worker of the Year for the State of New York by the National Association of Social Workers and a Rising Star by the Business Council of Westchester County in New York in 2012. She holds Master's degrees from Columbia University School of Social Work and Long Island University School of Management and Public Service.
