PRLog -- This past year has been an experience for Brooklyn native and urban contemporary singer/songwriter /_\drian Daniel since his debut EP
'Memoirs of a Stoner released in May 2012 caught him and everyone by surprise. Listeners were pleasantly surprise to experience an ecclectic mix of genres and thought provoking messages that meld together to tell his story... his challenges growing up in Brownsville, Brooklyn...challenges that continue to unfold in his stories told through his music. /_\drian Daniel brings a fresh new sound to urban contemporary music. His music influences include Kanya West, Sade, MGMT, Kid Cudi, N.E.R.D, 30 Seconds to Mars, Bob Dylan, and Journey to name a few. original, refreshing, dope and his live performance as
unabashed, /_\drian won critical acclaim for 'Memoirs of a Stoner' as
TCMA Best of 2012 Top 12 Independent Singer/Songwriter Releases. /_\drian Daniel writes,sings and co-produce his own music and may sample or throw in a cover song from some of his favorite bands like MGMT's
'Electric EEL' during his live performances. Following the recent release of /_\drian's second EP '
NATIVE' in February 2013, that music bloggers including
AllHipHop.Com and
URVEW gave a thumbs up, listeners will experience the continuation of his story and new experiences as well. /_\drian has been performing throughout the NY metro area with a full band the Stonerz for several years at notable venues including
The Bitterend, Katra Lounge, Sistas Place, Public Assembly, Brooklyn Jazz Festival, to name a few
and most recently
City College Black History Month Celebration hosted by
WCCR.590.AM 'The One'. Music bloggers describe him as a riveting performer and his band of young musicians as 'tight'. His band who are all under 23 yrs old with the exception of his bassist include a keyboard player who is a composer and concert pianist with two
Carnegie Hall performances under his belt and drummers/percussionists who are hired out to play for
SXSW choice bands. /_\drian Daniel has made some notable impression with seasoned music veterans including renowned jazz trumpeter and musical director Ahmed Abdullah and bassist
Stanley Banks who shared, "This guy has such a unique style and presence about him that gives off this great "I'm gonna do my thing" vibe like Miles Davis, who was known for carving out his own unique path in music.
With a growing fan base of teens, college students and young adults /_\drian Daniel and his band the Stonerz will be returning to Brooklyn this Spring on Friday April 12, 2013 5:00pm at the Brooklyn Museum following performances by local R&B and rap artists. The events starts at 4:00pm.
