Running the Racecourse with Los Rios River Runners!
PRLog (Press Release) - Mar. 8, 2013 - On March 5, 2013, Los Rios River Runners (http://www.losriosriverrunners.com) opened the rafting season on the Rio Grande in the Santa Fe and Taos area of northern New Mexico. Los Rios is the first company on the river, as we are most years. Two happy spring break vacationers spent a day on our Lower Gorge full-day adventure, floating through the spectacular scenery of the Orilla Verde in the morning and then, after a riverside lunch, braving the Class 3 whitewater of the Racecourse section.
Many people have booked to raft with us throughout the month of March, when they come to Taos for spring break. We’ve got a great snowpack so we’re expecting a great year on the river. Spring breakers can ski one day and raft the next!
Los Rios River Runners, New Mexico’s oldest and largest rafting company, has been in business since 1978. Founded by the legendary rafter and storyteller Cisco Guevara in 1978 and still under his management, Los Rios takes over 7,000 happy rafters on trips from mild to wild. Our most popular trips are the adrenaline-pumping world-class whitewater of the Taos Box (http://www.losriosriverrunners.com/taos-box), the family-friendly half-day Racecourse, multi-day wilderness escapes on the Rio Chama (http://www.losriosriverrunners.com/chama-three-day), and our increasingly popular Sunset Dinner Float.
