Eric Morris Named February 2013 GTM Sportswear Athlete of the Month

March 8, 2013 - PRLog -- GTM Sportswear® and the National High School Coaches Association (NHSCA) are pleased to announce senior wrestler Eric Morris as the February 2013 GTM Sportswear Athlete of the Month. He will be recognized at a press conference at Wyoming Seminary, Kingston, Pa. on March 14, 2013 at 2:20 p.m.

“Winning a national award… will serve as motivation as I continue on through my career,” said Morris. “I am blessed to be given the talents I have and I look forward to bettering myself in all areas of life throughout college and after.”

Morris earned two National Prep Wrestling titles and remained undefeated during his senior year. He maintains a 3.4 cumulative grade point average (GPA) and has been honored as part of the Dean’s List Honor Roll at Wyoming Seminary. Morris has been accepted into and plans to wrestle at Harvard University in their Division One program, and hopes to compete to win four NCAA titles.

“I wish to pursue an international career as I move towards the end of college,” said Morris. “I hope to compete for Olympic and World titles in the future and perform as a competitor for Team U.S.A.”

NHSCA and GTM Sportswear honor one deserving high school athlete each month from September 2012 through April 2013.  NHSCA coaches nominate commendable athletes through the NHSCA website.  Each month, six finalists are selected by the NHSCA and presented via ballot to a group of high school sports writers, high school coaches and NHSCA and GTM Sportswear representatives to choose the winner.  Out of the eight recipients of the monthly award, one athlete will be chosen as the GTM Sportswear Athlete of the Year in May 2013.
