BELLINGHAM, Wash., March 7, 2013 — The Conclave app (http://www.verbum.com/conclave) gives Catholics all the information they need to understand the 2013 conclave. Its one-stop dashboard offers the most current news and tweets, a live video feed of St. Peter’s Square, supporting documents outlining the history and practice of the conclave, and much more. Read biographies of every eligible cardinal, browse top blogs and Catholic news sources, and see the smoke rising in real time.

The Conclave app provides a new interface for following the conclave and the discussion surrounding it. Andrew Jones, PhD (http://scripturestudysoftware.com/andrew-w-jones/?utm_source=%5blist_%5d&utm_medium=pressrelease&utm_content=%5boutmail.messageid%5d&utm_campaign=verbum2013q1), director of Catholic products at Logos, says that “This app brings something new to the table. Never before has technology been so accessible for such a specific task. Generating a new piece of software this quickly, or customizing it for such a brief event, was previously unheard of.”

In 1996, Pope John Paul II wrote Universi dominici gregis, an apostolic constitution outlining the conclave’s process and practices. In 2007 and 2013, Pope Benedict XVI issued motu proprios amending these processes. Conclave presents these and all other Vatican conclave documents—free and easily accessible.

The conclave convenes soon, and the last papal election ended after about 24 hours. Conclave keeps Catholics up to date just as fast as the news develops.
