“Can I Get an Amen” stars the remaining eight queens in their ravishing pursuit of becoming America’s next fabulous drag queen while snatching the tantalizing grand prize, including: a lifetime supply of Colorevolution Cosmetics, a one of a kind trip, courtesy of Al&Chuck.Travel.com, the honor of headlining the drag race tour featuring Absolute Vodka; cocktails perfected, and a “cash money honey” prize of $100,000.
With only nine contestants left, the queens seem apprehensive as the competition becomes fierce. The contestants struggle early on as they meet their first challenge: applying their Colorevolution makeup in the dark. While the majority of the women end up looking like they should stay in the dark, Detox looks surprisingly stunning, and emerges victorious amongst the contestants. Upon completing challenge number one, the queens are then asked to put their vocal ability to the test. In ode to 1980’s inspirational anthems by super groups such as Band Aid and USA for Africa, the main challenge will require the contestants to not only record, but write their own inspirational anthem called, “Can I Get an Amen”.
While Ivy Winters steals the show with her knock-out performance, it is clear that some groups are more harmonious than others, both on and off the stage, as some shine and others fall flat. In the end, celebrity guest judges, Latoya Jackson and the Pointer Sisters, decide that Jade’s performance did not end on a high note, and she is eliminated.
In addition to Colorevolution being featured throughout the 5th season of RuPaul's Drag Race; IBG Laboratories, the makers of Colorevolution, is collaborating with RuPaul on specialized private label items that will be coming in 2013.
Viewers can catch the race with Colorevolution and RuPaul on LOGO channel on Mondays 9/8pm Central.
With the release of the new TV show there will also be a new television advertising campaign featuring Colorevolution. The ad campaign will provide a few lucky winners with over $1200 worth of makeup and application training. Details to enter to win will be on the TV commercial to coincide with the airing of the show.
