Durham dentist lectures to Charlotte Dental Society

John R. Christensen was the featured speaker at the Charlotte Dental Society Annual Winter Meeting February 22. Dr. Christensen presented material from infant oral health to autism to managing unerupted anterior teeth.

March 8, 2013 - PRLog -- On February 22, Dr. John Christensen, a Durham Pediatric Dentist and Orthodontist, lectured to the Charlotte Dental Society at their Annual Winter Meeting at the Harris Conference Center in Charlotte, NC.  The lecture was entitled, "Contemporary Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics: Managing the Not Normal".  The lecture was designed to help general dentists, pediatric dentists, and orthodontists communicate with one another on patients with unusual dental problems.  Topics ranged from how to set up an infant oral health program in your office to how to manage autistic and special needs patients to managing orthodontic problems with erupting teeth.  "It is important that we share and discuss special issues facing our dental offices on a daily basis.  It is very difficult to be an island today and communication is the key to providing patients ideal care" explained Dr. Christensen.
Dr. Christensen maintains a private practice in Durham, NC and is Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry. He contributed six chapters to the newest edition of Pediatric Dentistry: Infancy through Adolescence.
