March 8, 2013 - PRLog -- HOPE FOR LIVING - Japan is part of an Internet evangelism alliance, launched in JAPAN to help reach millions shaken and hurting from the March 2011 earthquake, tsunami and nuclear accident.

With a series of seeker-friendly “stepping stone” web sites in JAPANESE the ministry is a new effort to lead people to Christ and connect them with a local church. The English information for the ministry HOPE FOR LIVING (www.hopeforliving.info).

HOPE FOR LIVING is an extension of Jesus.net (www.jesus.net), a global alliance of Internet ministries that operates Christian evangelistic websites in more than 20 languages with 40 organisations worldwide.  Jesus.net was awarded the National Religious Broadcasters’ “Innovation Award” for its global, cutting-edge evangelism strategy. They recently passed the landmark of 5 Million people praying online to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour.

The initial “Hope for Living” web site in JAPANESE has generated considerable online traffic on a daily basis. It introduces visitors to short films of survivors from earlier earthquakes and other traumatic experiences. Their "hope stories" illustrate how, in the midst of great turmoil, their faith in God strengthened them or the pressure inspired them to come to know Christ (www.hopeforliving.net)

A second, complementary site, “Knowing God,” (www.knowinggod.jp), which introduces inquiring users to the gospel has dynamic gospel music videos. A third site, “Why Jesus?,” (www.whyjesus.net), is a five-week interactive course that is now available and connect seekers with JAPANESE Christians. These “e-coaches” will assist those searching for answers, invite them to a local gospel meeting and help connect them with a local church.

“The work of Hope for Living is increasing in importance, as much of the world moves on to other concerns while the JAPANESE try to make sense of their future,” said Yukio Konishi, the JAPAN Coordinator.  “People appreciate us being there for them to respond to their questions and concerns. Our availability online plugs a gap that many spiritual seekers cannot fill elsewhere.”

“Two year after the disasters, we are more encouraged than ever,” says Andy Game, director of Jesus.net JAPAN.  “With only a fraction of our nation expressing belief in Christ, we see that new media will dramatically increase the church’s outreach and help connect with a new generation of JAPANESE. We see bright days ahead.“

As the Second Anniversary of the disasters approaches, HOPE FOR LIVING-Japan will run an 11 Day Focus on Tohoku (from 1-11 March 2013).
