The beachfront property, which is owned and developed by HB International, is scheduled to open in mid-2014. It will be located on a 2,500 -acre land with more than three miles of beachfront and an hour from the capital and the country’s international airport. Its strategic location, only an hour drive from Granada and Leon, two historic colonial cities, as well as Masaya Volcano National Park and Lake Nicaragua, the largest lake in Central America, will allow guests to take advantage of the country´s diverse tourism activities.
Roger Keeling, Founder and CEO of HB International, told The Nicaragua Dispatch in an interview that ‘’all the pieces have finally come together. It’s real and it’s happening’’. He also talked about Wyndham’s desire to be a major player in Central America, and their ideas on introducing new brands to the market.
Milagro del Mar will be part of the Gran Pacifica master development, offering beachfront properties and a golf resort. The first phase will open next year offering 42 condos, a restaurant, lobby, pool and bar. Phase II, which is scheduled for completion by 2015, will offer an additional 42 villas. The final phase will be a hotel with 128 suites, bringing the total hotel project to 212 units. Its golf course will be expanded to 18 holes by the time Phase II is completed.
Milagro del Mar is expected to generate over 300 jobs within the local community. Additionally, the Pacific Coast of Nicaragua has been developing other new projects over the years such as Gran Pacifica, as well as the newest beachfront property, Guacalito de la Isla.
