Fewer Homes for Sale in Omaha, NE while Listing Prices Fall

March 7, 2013 - PRLog -- According to the Market Report - a publication of Omaha Real Estate Group Prudential Ambassador by Tasha Moss - the number of homes for sale in Omaha, NE was 2405, down 6.34% from 2557 in December. This is the 3rd consecutive month where the number of homes for sale decreased.

The average price of homes for sale was $188,510, which was down from $189,308 in December. Likewise the median price of homes for sale - the number at which half of the homes listed for sale were for more and half were for less - decreased 0.53% to $141,203.

There is currently a lack of inventory in the Omaha market at most price ranges. We are experiencing a tremendous amount of activity on our listings and the average market time is much lower than we have seen in years.

The prices varied according to the size of the homes
- 2 bedroom - $138,932 - an increase of 1.76% from December
- 3 bedroom - $149,448 - a decrease of 0.33% from December
- 4 bedroom - $260,032 - an increase of 1.26% from December
- 5 bedroom - $371,008 - a decrease of 0.49% from December


The average home for sale has 3 bedrooms and 2.43 bathrooms.
