Kid Chef Eliana talks “Bizarre Foods” with Travel Channel Host Andrew Zimmern on VoiceAmerica

March 7, 2013 - PRLog -- PHOENIX - VoiceAmerica Radio Network, Internet broadcasting pioneer, producing and syndicating online audio and video, today announced that one of the youngest chef’s in the world, cookbook author and professional 12 year-old Kid Chef Eliana will be hosting Andrew Zimmern, host of the Travel Channel Show, “Bizarre Foods” on her show “Cool Kids Cook” on March 18 at 4 PM PST.

Andrew Zimmern is an award-winning TV personality, chef and food writer, and is known to be one of the most versatile and knowledgeable personalities in the food world. He is the creator, host and co-executive producer of Travel Channel's hit series, Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern. In the series, Zimmern travels the globe in search of strange and unusual edible delicacies. He focuses on foods that would, in one country, be considered common cuisine, but may be an exotic edible in another. He usually shows how the food is made, where it is served, and then presumes to try the dish. From world class restaurants to food trucks, Zimmern believes that sharing food is the best way to learn about cultures, and his doing so definitely educates viewers on other cultures’ traditions and ways of life.

Kid Chef Eliana has always enjoyed sharing recipes from around the world, so this show is sure to be a melting pot of fantastic dishes all over the world! Join the two culinary explorers as they discuss their favorite (and maybe even their least favorite) exotic foods.

About Kid Chef Eliana:
12 year old Kid Chef Eliana grew up in a family of cooks. With grandparents from Cajun Louisiana, the Philippines, Cuba, and Honduras, Eliana’s recipes have international flair. She loves traveling and spending time in the kitchen with her family. Eliana says, “Cooking is so much fun. You can be creative and invent new recipes.” Eliana’s first cookbook, “Eliana Cooks! Recipes for Creative Kids” was released in October 2010. She is awaiting the publication of her second cookbook, “Cool Kids Cook: Louisiana.”

At ten years old, Kid Chef Eliana was chosen as one of 13 Latinos profiled in a museum exhibit at the Southern Food and Beverage Museum. She is featured in a book called The Parents’ Guide to Raising CEO Kids by Dr. Jerry Cook and Sarah L. Cook. She has been a guest chef on Eyewitness Morning News on WWL-TV in New Orleans and has cooked with Celebrity Chef John Besh. She was a featured chef at the New Orleans Seafood Festival and the Louisiana Book Festival. She does numerous media appearances, cooking demonstrations, and book signings. In the future, Eliana plans to design cookware for kids, create a line of spices, and host her own TV cooking show. She also wants to teach kids that good food is more than chicken nuggets and French fries. Her motto is, “Cool kids cook and get creative in the kitchen!”

In August of 2010 Perry Damone Founder and Chairman of the KidStar Radio Network met an incredible gentleman with an extraordinary vision by the name of Jeff Spenard. Mr. Spenard is the President of World Talk Radio LLC / Voice America. Perry Damone and Jeff Spenard sat down to discuss a new channel that Voice America was thinking of launching; Voice America Kids. VAK also collaborates with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children offering a 24/7 on air beacon that looks for missing kids across the country and around the world. “Our Future is Missing, Voice America Kids” is hosted by kids looking for missing kids; to date and as of this writing, “Our Future Is Missing Voice America Kids” alongside incredible nationwide efforts, there have been 14 kids recovered which have been on the VAK airwaves.
