CONNECTICUT SPORTS FOUNDATION CYCLE AGAINST CANCER Event to Benefit 1Year-Old Payton James Vincent of East Haven, CT and other cancer patients! Cycle Against Cancer, the premiere indoor team cycling fundraiser, was a tremendous success on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Shoreline Fitness in Clinton, CT. This event, presented by Shoreline Fitness to benefit the Connecticut Sports Foundation (CSF) raised over $40,000 for CT cancer patients and their families. It was an exciting and emotionally touching event in which riders came out to support 1 year old Payton and other CT cancer patients! “We are grateful to partner with Shoreline Fitness for the second year in a row to raise funds to support CT Cancer patients and their families. The need for financial assistance is overwhelming in the State of CT and we value this charitable community partnership,” HEROES FIGHT CANCER Shoreline Fitness raises over $7,000 to help local woman battling cancer Shoreline Fitness held a “Heroes Fight Cancer” event, a group fitness charity event to help a local resident Jennifer Welch-Thornton financially while she battles cancer. Jen is a 37 year old Westbrook native who has been battling Retroperitoneal Leomil Sarcoma Cancer for over 4 years. Heroes Fight Cancer was a 6 hour group fitness event were participants Sweat it out with Zumba, Les Mills Body Jam and Body Combat. The turnout was large and the energy and feel of the event was Exciting and uplifting. The Shoreline Fitness members, staff and local community were extremely generous, donating over $7,000. SANDY HOOK EVENT Event to benefit the victims of Sandy Hook On December 29th, 2012 Shoreline Fitness honored and remembered the many precious lives that were lost in Sandy Hook, CT with A group exercise event. Club members, instructors and staff wore green, white and black while participating in a 90 minute Les Mills Body Combat class. Over 100 people attended the event and together raised over $1,400! The funds raised went to the Victoria Soto Scholarship Fund. End
