March 6, 2013 - PRLog -- NY fashion designer, Hilton Hollis, will be in Atlanta, GA from 3/12-3/14 as the keynote speaker for the Atlanta History’s Center 2013 Spring Luncheon.  He will also be showing his Fall 2013 collection, “The Exoskeleton”, at Tootsie’s.

Founded in 1926, the Atlanta History Center connects people, history, and culture through one of the country’s premier History Centers.  The Atlanta History Museum at the Atlanta History Center is one of the largest history museums in the nation.  The History Center annually serves approximately 250,000 people, including almost 60,000 school children.

Hilton Hollis will be featured as a prominent speaker from the fashion community for the History Center’s 2013 Spring Luncheon with 300 of Atlanta’s social and civic leaders in attendance.  Additionally, Hilton will be honored at a Patron Party for the History Center Guild members, who are high net worth individuals who lead very active and social lives.

Phebe Wahl, Editor-in-Chief of The Atlanta Brides and Contributing Editor of Jezebel, Men’s Book, and The Atlantan will serve as moderator and interview Hilton about his collections and the lifestyle reflected in his designs.

The Fall 2013 collection, “The Exoskeleton”, was inspired by the study of how certain animals are covered and protected by an outer surface or shell.  Some are used as protection, while others act as camouflage.  The concept involves replication of seaming that mimic surface textures of some animals with an exoskeleton, covering the body with fabric that acts as a barrier against the elements and strength of which is given in these outer shells.

Hilton: “I take great pride in being a Southerner.  The Atlanta History Center plays a vital role in preserving significant historical and educational accomplishments and achievements of great Southerners.”
