These types of programs have become the ultimate launch pad for many big ideas and promising entrepreneur's. There is one problem getting in is not easy it's a competitive application process and sometimes there can be steep application fees.

If you aspire to get accepted to an accelerator, pay attention.

Entrepreneurial personalities.

These companies will be looking at your personality traits when considering you for a start up. What some will be looking for is for you to be curious and product driven as they see these as good indicators for entrepreneurial success. When they look at businesses that have failed usually they find that the problem has been toxic relationships and bad business practices as the root cause.

It pays to play well with others.

These companies look at entrepreneur's very critically in terms of how well they can work with others. They are looking at your company in the long term, when your company grows you will probably find that if you have burned bridges with others in the past, then other companies aren't likely to want to work with you.

There are some exceptions.

You get a call from facebook and they are wanting to work with you, surely you won't pass that up just because their founder and owner is notoriously difficult to work with. Some times a bad team player can come up with a great idea.
