The Tennessee Aquarium’s popular Keeper Kids Program is a highlight of Spring Break in Chattanooga. The educational, interactive program gives children the chance to get closer to some of the Aquarium’s most amazing animals and discover what it is like to care for them. Little ones may choose two of the almost 20 different activities offered throughout the day, with each program lasting approximately 15 minutes. Options include releasing butterflies; feeding partridges and Palawan peacock pheasant; going behind the scenes with SCUBA divers; feeding otters and trout; and feeding animals in the Secret Reef.  Keeper Kids activities are free with Aquarium admission and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

At Creative Discovery Museum, one of the premier hands-on children’s museums in the region, little ones will travel back in time to explore the newest exhibit, Age of the Dinosaurs.  At the Chattanooga Zoo, children of all ages will have the opportunity to get up close to amazing animals, explore innovative exhibits and take part in wide-ranging educational offerings.

Another popular family destination, Rock City, Ruby Falls and the Incline Railway, are located just a few miles from The Chattanoogan atop Lookout Mountain.  Visitors marvel at seven states when visiting Rock City.  At Ruby Falls, families explore underground and experience the majesty of America’s largest underground waterfall that is accessible to the public.  The Incline Railway’s trolley-style cars take guests through the natural beauty surrounding the historic mountain at a breathtaking 72.7% grade straight up, making it the steepest passenger railway in the world.

After a fun day of exploring, families will appreciate The Chattanoogan’s beautiful surroundings and relaxed atmosphere.  Children will be delighted with the indoor swimming pool that has spectacular views of Lookout Mountain, and parents will enjoy  the fitness facility and incredible spa services available at The Spa at The Chattanoogan.

The Chattanoogan’s Broad Street Grille, a favorite of parents and children, has a children’s menu with numerous selections for young guests. Strouds, The Chattanoogan’s sidewalk espresso café, features delectable made-to-order sandwiches and salads, daily homemade soups, pastries, desserts, and a variety of unique gourmet coffees and teas.

The Chattanoogan, a 210,000 square-foot five-story upscale hotel with 199 guest rooms and suites, has three restaurants, a spa with four treatment rooms, steam room, sauna, fitness center, indoor pool, whirlpool, and patio overlooking the hotel’s courtyard.

The property is conveniently located within a two-hour drive from Atlanta; Nashville, Tenn.; Knoxville, Tenn.; Huntsville, Ala.; and Birmingham, Ala.  It is within walking distance of the city’s museums, galleries, retail stores, restaurants and The Tennessee Aquarium.
