Moving Forward With Mobile Search

Mobile search is nothing new in the world of Digital Advertising. At least it isn’t for Google. In June of 2005, Google released mobile web search and has been refining it since. So why has Mobile PPC been such a hot topic lately?
 
March 6, 2013 - PRLog -- Mobile search is nothing new in the world of Digital Advertising.  At least it isn’t for Google.  In June of 2005, Google released mobile web search and has been refining it since.  So why has Mobile PPC been such a hot topic lately?

Well, with the huge increase in smart phone ownership, people are now ditching their desktops and going mobile with local search.  Since 2009, the number of mobile searches has increased at a truly astronomical rate.  In fact, in 2012 alone there were 3.45 billion local mobile searches.  That’s 2.45 billion more local mobile searches than conducted in 2009.

A recent study has also shown that approximately 80% of searchers will research a product online before making a purchase.  The final purchase usually being within 10-20 miles of the location the search was conducted from.

This is big news for small businesses.  Now, with Google’s new Enhanced Campaign’s, we can certainly expect to continue to watch these numbers skyrocket.  To help visualize just how much local mobile search has increased, take a look at the Infographic below.
