Northern Trust Signs Lease at 600 Brickell

New deal brings 600,000-square-foot class-A office tower to almost 40 percent leased.

March 6, 2013 - PRLog -- Northern Trust has signed a lease for approximately 62,000 square feet of space, on three floors, at 600 Brickell, in Miami, at Brickell World Plaza.

“Our current location has been an excellent home for our Florida headquarters for over 40 years,” said John Fumagalli, president of the bank’s Florida operations. “Due to the growth of the Northern Trust franchise throughout Florida, the time has come for us to accommodate the changing needs of our employees and clients by relocating to the exciting new space at Brickell World Plaza, ideally positioned within the Brickell Downtown District, and across the street from our long time headquarters.”

“The decision was influenced by 600 Brickell’s infrastructure and amenities,  including an internationally-certified information technology security system, expandable IT capacity and a green environment that benefits the health and well-being our employees.”

Fumagalli said the bank would occupy the 22nd, 23rd and 24th floors and include a 2,000-square-foot lobby service center when the full space is finished before the end of the year, and that the move will also efficiently support the bank’s growth strategy.  He added that the bank’s real estate assets located between Southeast 7th Street and Southeast 8th Street will be sold.

The building’s amenities include a state-of-the-art conference and fitness centers, panoramic views, campus-wide WiFi/cell phone service extending into the elevators and the landmark Brickell World Plaza – a 30,000-square-foot urban oasis in the state’s only high-rise office building to be pre-certified as LEED Platinum, the highest rating available from the U.S. Green Building Council.

600 Brickell was represented in the lease transaction by Glenn H. Gregory and Noël Steinfeld of Jones Lang LaSalle Americas, Inc.

Steelbridge, a real estate investment and advisory firm based in Chicago, Illinois and Miami, Florida, represented Northern Trust in the transaction.
