American Society of Appraisers to Offer Personal Property Conference on Trusts and Estates

The American Society of Appraisers personal property discipline will offer a spring conference on the topic of Trusts and Estates from May 1 (afternoon) to May 3 in the Washington D.C. metro area.
 
March 6, 2013 - PRLog -- The conference will feature attorneys, wealth managers and others, who rely upon personal property appraisers for work in the field of trusts and estates. This conference is designed to help personal property appraisers keep current with today’s appraisal issues.

Appraisers wake up to daily headlines: Investment funds composed of artwork and other personal property! Personal Property as an investment! Personal Property as a viable asset class! Liquidation problems due to asset class (endangered species!). IRS repercussions! Learn how these headlines translate to the management of assets for Trusts & Estates.

Examine the role of the various players in the wealth management process. Look at the role of Personal Property in the calculation of estate taxes and estate planning as a method of distributing and protecting multi-generational family wealth. Examine the concept of Fair Market Values, the intended use and the needs of the users through a variety of players in the fiscal, legal and appraisal fields. Become awareness of relevant terms and the definitions of instruments used by wealth managers. Listen to panel discussions work through how professional personal property appraisers can work with the various players most effectively.
