On The Road Cruising With Ozemo – An Electric Idea

March 6, 2013 - PRLog -- The Ozemo Cruiser has been designed specially for the Australian market, with OzEmo Electric Bicycles company director Garry Masters and his son Jake and daughter Jessica developing the bike’s prototype.

An innovative concept that is a first of its kind in Australia, the idea behind Ozemo is to provide tourism operators and small business owners with a “business in a box” solution.

OzEmo provides electric bicycles in packages of 5, 10, 20 or more direct to fellow business operators, in particular Tourism operators, in a ready-to-go model designed to boost their client’s business activities, income and marketing efforts through a value-add solution.

The electric bikes can be branded with the client’s marketing messages and are provided complete with financing options, product marketing kits and a 12-month warranty. The bikes are then hired out by the client to their customers for a daily fee to generate extra income all while marketing messages are rode around town.

“OzEmo Electric Bicycles are an opportunity to gain extra income while adding a valuable new service to a business, which is both suitable and appealing to a wide array of customers,” Mr Masters explains.  

Mr Master’s said hire income projections show that 10 bikes, hired at $25 per day for a 30-day month would gross $7,500 dollars.

“This is a business model that stacks up. There is an increasing desire within the community for modern electric bikes and there isn’t anything in north Queensland meeting this demand.

Taking more than 12 months to develop the bike’s prototype, Mr Masters said their primary focus was to ensure quality, functionality and longevity.

He said every last detail on the OzEmo Cruiser had been road tested from the life of the light lithium battery, three-speed gears, and the quiet 200 watt motor, to the wicker basket at the front, and adjustable seat.

“Over the years, if there is one thing I have learned, it is that quality wins every time. So when Jake and Jessica decided to start OzEmo Electric Bicycles, it was important to really consider quality and great design.

“The rider has to feel good, comfortable and confident. The Ozemo Cruiser is designed to be functional and fit the rider while offering relaxed comfort and design.”

The Masters’ family has always enjoyed cycling so it wasn’t much of a leap for them to consider developing an e-bike.

“As a boy living in a small country town in Victoria, my pushbike was my greatest possession. Even my three brothers who are now in their 60s continue to cycle and are taking part in the Oldies Tour de France this year.

“E-bikes offer an outdoor activity and sense of freedom that cannot be achieved any other way. Riders can pedal for exercise, or sit back and allow the OzEmo Cruiser electric motor to do all the work.”

The electric distance range of the bike is between 50km and 75km, while its top speed is 25km. It can be recharged in four to six hours for approximately 10 cents.

The e-bikes, which come in packages of 10,15, 20 and 30, are available wholesale to tourism operators and businesses.

A small number of e-bikes will also be available for individual sale directly after launch. For safety and security, a helmet and cable lock is included with each cruiser. No driver’s licence or registration is required to ride the bikes.

“Resort guests can hire these on a daily or weekly basis and can charge the hire to their accommodation account. There is very little paperwork required and the hiring can be easily handled by front of house or a tour desk.”

The Ozemo Cruiser can also be customised with a business’ logo, company name or message. Provided with each OzEmo Cruiser package is a full colour A frame footpath sign as well as rate cards and advertising flyers for rooms, coffee shop, restaurant tables, reception and tour desks.
