The Coca-Cola Company Presents the Third Annual Diamond Awards Weekend

Paula Abdul, Dionne Warwick, Alan Thicke, Nichelle Nichols and others join The Not Alone Foundation support of Kidney Disease

March 2013.  The Not Alone Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing financial assistance and educational and medical resources for chronic kidney disease (CKD) and end-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients and their families, announces The Third Annual Diamond Awards presented by The Coca-Cola Company. The annual awards gala will take place on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the Hilton Atlanta/Marietta Convention Hotel, located in Marietta, Georgia. This year’s festivities will be extended to further align with the foundation’s mission and support financial efforts in assisting families and individuals whose lives have been affected by CKD and ESRD.

Also a partner of the Diamond Awards, the Hilton will serve as host of the foundation’s weekend-long events, which include the Educational Summit, Laps 4 Life community walk, Coca-Cola Reception and the 3rd Annual Awards Diamond Awards Gala.   The Not Alone Foundation’s founder and Chairman, Mark Dodd, is grateful for the opportunity to utilize hotel facilities, which will centralize all activities and help redirect contributions in a way that allows the fundraising effort to benefit even more families and individuals living with and affected by CKD and ESRD.

In addition to the awards ceremony, to be hosted by Emmy Award winning television icon Jackée Harry, The Coca-Cola Company and The Not Alone Foundation are pleased to present supplemental opportunities that will allow the public to interact with celebrities, support collegiate scholars and raise much needed contributions for the foundation’s general fund. On Friday, March 15 at 9:00 a.m. the Hilton Marietta Convention Hotel in the city of Marietta, Georgia will host The Diamond Awards Educational Summit. At Noon, Canton, Georgia’s Bridge Athletic Club will be the venue as The Coca-Cola Corporation honors men of distinction Ahmad Rashad, Alan Thicke and Ken Howard at a reception to kick off the First Annual Not Alone Foundation Celebrity Golf Tournament. On Saturday, March 16, at 9:00AM, The City Club Golf Course, located on the property of the host hotel, will serve as a whimsical backdrop for The Not alone Foundation’s signature community awareness event, Laps 4 Life.

Mark Dodd, CEO of The Not Alone Foundation, shares his deep gratitude for those involved with this life-saving cause. “Such a diagnosis can be life-changing and costly, which is why the time and generosity from donors is vital to the lives of others,” says Dodd. “The caliber of honorees, sponsors, and attendees demonstrates the generosity and concern from both our local community and people around the globe supporting such a worthy cause.”

This year's honorees include Dionne Warwick who is being honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award; Larry Namer, Co-Founder of E! Entertainment Television who will receive the Diamond Award for Corporate Excellence as presented by international entertainer Paula Abdul; Nichelle Nichols will receive the Chairman’s Award; and Dr. Strive Masiyiwa will receive the award of Hope Excellence in Education & Corporate Efforts. Additional attendees scheduled to appear: Anthony Anderson, Vivica A. Fox, Marla Gibbs, Meagan Good, Jasmine Guy, Hill Harper, Dennis Haysbert, Regina King, Dr. Drew Pinsky, Alan Thicke, Keith David and Hal Williams. There will be featured musical performances by Eric Benet, NaCole Rice, Kenny Lattimore, Ann Nesby and Kelly Price.
