1.   International Women’s Day is held annually on March 8 to celebrate women’s achievements throughout history and across nations. Much progress has been made to protect and promote women’s rights.  The first International Women’s Day occurred in March 1911.
2.   The large majority of business networking takes place usually in unsociable hours, often as early as 7.30am in the morning, which excludes women with childcare responsibilities as they find it difficult to attend. Headz Up Business addresses this gap in the market and has a range of lunchtime networking events to support women business owners.

3.   About Pushpa Alexander and Headz Up Business
Pushpa Alexander, is an experienced event organiser with over 20years within the exhibition industry. She spent 5 years working at the NEC on some of the largest UK consumer & trade shows.

Pushpa began her career in exhibitions in her early 20’s working on overseas shows mainly in the U.S. promoting overseas trade to British Manufacturers, which gave her first invaluable insight and provided future exciting opportunities into the exhibition world.

Having worked at some of the largest UK Venues, and on many UK corporate companies marketing campaigns, Pushpa Alexander set up her own business Headz Up Business. Being a mum of 3 children (all under the age of 7yrs) herself, she had noticed that the majority of business networking events took place at unsociable hours, often as early as 7.30am in the morning. They were usually male dominated as many women with children found it difficult to attend due to school drop offs. She therefore decided to offer female only and mixed networking events at times which would allow time friendly business 2 business networking.

She runs a successful business offering Business Training, Business Networking, and Business Conferences. Her monthly events in Walsall have received huge praise from attendees who have directly increased their business.

Pushpa Alexander, received an Award from Walsall Wow Project Nov 2010, as ‘Ambassador for Innovation & Change in Walsall’ and received ‘Power Networker’ Award 2012 from The Business Growth Show. www.thebusinessgrowthshow.co.uk
Pushpa is also often involved with events that support the Mayor of Walsall and his fundraising work.
