The 27th Annual Sandestin Wine Festival to Showcase 800 Wines

PRLog (Press Release) - Mar. 5, 2013 - One of the South’s premiere events, The Sandestin Wine Festival at Baytowne Wharf has been a favorite among locals and guests for the past 27 years.  Known as the “Kentucky Derby of Wine Festivals”, thousands will be drawn to The Village of Baytowne Wharf beginning April 18th.  With 800 domestic and international wines and representatives from over 80 vineyards worldwide, this festival is one of the top wine festivals in the country.

New last year, novice and experienced cooks were invited to take part in cooking demonstrations featuring regional chefs and national food personalities. This year’s featured guest will be internationally known author and restaurateur Paula Deen. Guests can enjoy some of Paula’s favorite dishes on Saturday afternoon for the Southern Lunch. At the Coastal Living Magazine stage, healthy eating expert Diane Henderiks will be a presenting chef. Diane is a regular contributor for Good Morning America, renowned for her expertise in healthy cuisine.

Sunday Brunch by the Bay will feature music, a beautiful view of the Bay, and a Bloody Mary Bar at the Baytowne Marina. Proceeds will be donated to The Fisher House, an organization that provides free or low cost lodging to veterans and military families receiving treatment at military medical centers.

Guests are invited to “uncork some fun in the sun” and see why the Sandestin Wine Festival receives accolades from media around the country. Visitors can learn more about wines and sample from a comprehensive selection while meeting winemakers and being entertained by culinary experts. All wine will be available for purchase in the Retail Tent at a discounted rate. Destin condo rental and hotel accommodations will be available in close proximity to the event.
