ʻCoolʼ New Technology Expands Wilmington Plastic Surgeryʼs Noninvasive Body
Sculpting Options
Wilmington, NC—Wilmington Plastic Surgery is the first practice in the region to add advanced
CoolFit technology to its body sculpting capabilities. CoolFit is a specially designed applicator
for CoolSculpting
hard-to-reach places.
A noninvasive procedure that uses patented cooling technology to target and eliminate excess fat
cells, CoolSculpting works by exposing fat cells to extreme cold, which causes them to crystallize
and die off, after which they are naturally eliminated by the body. Unlike other procedures,
CoolSculpting does not affect surrounding tissue or skin.
CoolFitʼs breakthrough design features include longer cooling plates for a 38% greater treatment
surface and a flat applicator cup, which is ideal for longer fat bulges. Prior to the development of
the CoolFit applicator, CoolSculpting was used primarily for excess inches around a personʼs
waist, problem areas often called love handles and muffin tops. With CoolFit, doctors can also
treat inner thighs, saddlebags and bra fat. This flexibility and versatility allows physicians to better
customize treatment for each individualʼs issues and concerns.
“Adding CoolFit is a case of making a great thing even better,” said Guy R. Williams III, CMPE,
Practice Administrator of Wilmington Plastic Surgery. “CoolSculpting is a very successful, very
popular procedure. This enables us to treat more patients for more problem areas. Our patients
are excited about this capability.”
The regionʼs most established plastic surgery practice, Wilmington Plastic Surgery has been
serving southeastern North Carolina for more than 30 years. Together with a highly experienced
staff of nurses and technicians, the four board-certified plastic surgeons offer patients a complete
range of surgical and non-invasive reconstructive and cosmetic procedures.
